The most prominent highlight in the series of activities welcoming the new year is the special “Countdown Concert” and fireworks display - “Radiant Spring Colors of Điện Biên 2026,” organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The program takes place on the evening of December 31, 2025, at Mường Thanh Walking Street - a new cultural and entertainment space for the mountain city people, “awakened” by music, lights, and festive colors.

According to Trần Hải Hà, Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, New Year’s celebrations have become an annual activity of the province, but this year they are organized with a new form and a more modern approach, suitable for the cultural enjoyment and entertainment trends of a large number of people and tourists.

“This is one of the activities to serve the People, creating a joyful and excited atmosphere during the transition moment between the old and new years, thereby contributing to improving the spiritual life of ethnic groups in the province. Through the series of New Year events, the provincial culture, sports, and tourism sector wishes to promote and introduce the image of the land and people of Điện Biên to tourists near and far. The activities are designed to harmonize historical and cultural traditional values with a youthful, modern, and dynamic spirit, thereby creating a ripple effect, stimulating demand, and promoting tourism development in Điện Biên,” said Trần Hải Hà.

Information from the Organizing Committee indicates that the program combines live music, modern and elegant style, and a vibrant festive atmosphere in the open space of Mường Thanh Walking Street. The New Year atmosphere in Điện Biên Phủ continues to be extended in the early days of 2026 with the 3rd Him Lam Spring Festival - 2026, taking place from December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026, at the area of Residential Group 6, Điện Biên Phủ ward, organized by Him Lam Resort. The event is considered one of the large-scale spring fun highlights, contributing to enriching the city’s festival picture on the occasion of the New Year. Right on the evening of December 31, 2025, the festival space will be vibrant with the Rap - Hiphop Festival, gathering special guests from Vietnamese rap programs, bringing youthful and modern colors to the year-end night.

In addition, the culinary space at the 2026 Him Lam Spring Festival creates a highlight with more than 100 stalls, introducing typical dishes of Điện Biên and many regions across the country. Along with that are experience zones such as mega popcorn, spring-themed check-in areas, and play areas for children, contributing to stirring up the bustling festival atmosphere.

Parallel to cuisine and entertainment, the Spring Festival also organizes many community cultural activities such as street art performances, exploring the world of magic, and an elaborately staged light garden.
